There are lots of yoga masters out there who swear up and down that you won’t get nearly as fulfilling an experience by watching yoga on TV as you will in person with a teacher. The problem is that a lot of this sounds more like “please come to my studio” than anything else.
You don’t necessarily NEED to visit a studio and pay for an overpriced contortionist to show you the way. That’s because yoga is all about the personal experience and less about the presentation or show.
As long as you have the right equipment, the time, and the willingness to learn, you can achieve what you need through yoga on the TV- especially if you have a service like www.cable-tv.com/cable-packages/. Make no mistake; the convenience of doing yoga at home doesn’t necessarily mean it will be any easier and, sometimes, it can be nice having someone there to tighten your form. However, that doesn’t mean you need a studio or an expensive instructor.
In the end, however, it’s up to you and what you want from the experience. If you just need something to guide you through a few relaxing stretches, then the TV won’t diminish the experience in even the slightest. You can find exercise programs and yoga specials on TV easy enough. If you’re looking for some deep or spiritual thing, well, you might need a little more.
